Scott’s comments on the Calgary Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, from the Seattle Times:
”Being at the opening ceremony was phenomenal. We were walking around the stadium and I would raise my hand to wave and entire sections of the crowd would be on their feet cheering for us. We were a two-man marching party: the smallest delegation at the Olympics. I think everybody was out there rooting for the underdog. I think representing your nation in the Olympics is an incredible honor. If you are the best in your nation even if it’s the luge in The Philippines, you should have the chance to compete. The Olympics is meeting people from other countries and competing against them. That’s the whole spirit of the Olympics.”
